At the Environmental and Urban Planning Office, we are over 40 people working with supervision under the Environmental Code and food safety, strategic climate and environmental issues, as well as planning and building permit matters. We are supported by the unit for maps, measurements, and administration. Our diverse backgrounds and education create a work environment rich in exchange and learning. In the Environmental and Health Protection Unit, we currently have seven people working within the Environmental Code area. We work together based on our supervision plan to achieve our common goals. We easily get around the island by walking, using electric bikes, or driving one of the city’s electric cars.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Environmental Protection Group is now seeking an experienced and committed employee. You will primarily work on planning and conducting inspections of environmentally hazardous activities, such as workshops, gas stations, boat clubs, and stormwater facilities, as well as handling incoming cases in the area, including notifications, complaints, surveys, and more.

Other tasks may also arise, such as handling contaminated areas, including PFAS. The work is varied and combines independent tasks with project work. You will also contribute to our development and quality work. The job involves many contacts with residents of Lidingö, businesses, and colleagues in the city. Our case management system is Ecos 2.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a relevant university degree in natural sciences and preferably several years of experience as an environmental and health protection inspector in the environmental protection field. You enjoy taking initiative and find it easy to collaborate. You perform your tasks independently and in a structured manner with high quality.

With good analytical skills, you help us solve complex problems. You thrive in meeting people and see service as a natural part of the job. Your communication skills allow you to express yourself well in both speech and writing. You are confident in setting demands when necessary. We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities, and a driver's license is required.

The city applies individual salary setting. Start date according to agreement.
